Every chain of work on this site, from first note to finished case study, and where each one currently stops.

Work here moves through five stages. A note is captured thinking. Something polished has been written up and checked. An application runs the method against real data with the notebook on the page. An insight states what that showed. A case study is the finished account, including what it does not establish.

This page exists because the honest answer to "how far did that get" is usually "not as far as it looks". Publishing where each chain stopped is less flattering than publishing only the finished ones, and considerably more useful.

The stages

Note: Captured thinking. Rough, possibly wrong, kept because it is where the work starts.
Polished: Written up and checked, but not yet applied to anything or argued from.
Application: The method run against real data, with the notebook or model on the page.
Insight: What the application actually showed, stated as a finding.
Case study: The finished account: question, method, result, and what it does not establish.
